Sediment management in channel networks: from measurements to best practices

Bozen-Bolzano, November 8-9, 2018

The knowledge of sediment transport fluxes in rivers and their correct management are increasingly recognized as crucial for guaranteeing a sustainable and integrated use of the water resources and of the fluvial corridors worldwide.
The workshop intends to bring together scientists and practitioners – from both public and private sectors – interested to learn and discuss the state-of-the-art approaches and experiences on river sediment transport monitoring and management strategies, with a special focus on mountain channels.
The event will last two days, with international (first day) and Italian (second day) invited speeches. Discussion time will be available after every talk and at the end of each day.

It will be possible to display posters (max 100, without specific presentation times, in A0 format) on both days.

The speakers’s presentations and presented posters are now available!

The Civil Protection Agency of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano supports the event through the HyMoCARES Project. The project will contribute to enhance protection, conservation and ecological connectivity of Alpine freshwater ecosystems, as the main pressures affecting their ecological status are related to the alteration of their hydromorphological dynamics.
